All My Friends Are Superheroes

Let’s get this out of the way first: Batman and Superman aren’t in this book. No Wonder Woman or Spiderman — no superheroes you’ve ever heard of before.

Which might explain why you wouldn’t have realized superheroes are everywhere, living among regular folk like Tom. This is a story about Tom’s superhero friends, like The Amphibian. Well, really it’s a love story, because Tom marries one of the superheroes: The Perfectionist. Only she is hypnotized on their wedding day by yet another superhero — making Tom invisible to her. And if he doesn’t figure out how to become visible to her by the end of her cross-country plane ride…

Kaufman’s book is cute and romantic, a good read for a short to medium flight (I read it at the airport) as it is more novella than novel. Recommended if you like quirky stories or have an affinity for nonstandard superheroes.
