12 frogs read think get curious

I won’t post again until I know how it ends

My weekend will be devoted to Harry Potter. I’m going to bed now, so I can get up early, get coffee, get to the bookstore, and get back home to start reading. Ok, technically to start listening — we (and by we, I mean Lisa) read the entire book out loud. That way we both know at the exact same time what is happening. Not to mention, being read to is fun.

If I’m such a fan, why aren’t I in line now to buy the book at midnight? I’m too old to stay up all night waiting to get a book to be able to read it once I have it. Sad, but there it is.

This also means my nearly total media blackout start now: I don’t want anything to spoil the story for me. I have trusted J. K. Rowling so far, so I want her to be my first source for what happens in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. That’s how it should be.

Because we’re book nerds, we’re both taking Monday off — I simply can’t bear the idea of having to devote serious time to anything else until we’ve finished the book. Reading nearly 800 pages out loud in three days or less will be a feat (Lisa is going to have let me do some of the reading this time around) but it will be fun.

For the record: I don’t think Snape is evil, and I can’t wait to see what happens to him next.

Sooooo… Jenny, you’ve had a week now. What did you think? Was it worth it?

Calling me out for slacking on my own blog, nice! :)

I think it’s probably the most absorbing series I’ve read since the very first time I lost myself in a book (The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe — the first of the seven Chronicles of Narnia). So yes, absolutely without a doubt it was worth it. Which is pretty much what I take longer and spoiler-filled paragraphs to say in the review I just posted.
