So many things in so little time
by JS on October 7, 2006
I loved being in London. Here are just some of the things we did:
- saw 500 year old pages from da Vinci’s notebooks
- crossed the Millennium Bridge at night and walked along the Thames
- heard an organ recital in Westminster Abbey
- walked through (and brought home part of) the Trophy flock
- petted rays at the aquarium [this was just me, as Lisa wasn't so keen on touching the rays]
- stood in front of the Rosetta Stone
- took a flight on the London Eye
- visited 18 Folgate Street (where “either you get it, or you don’t”) and were charmed by the magic
- ate lunch (“rare breed” hen eggs and insanely good smoked salmon and welsh rarebit) at the Patio Restaurant in a department store older than the United States
- watched fabulous creatures at the zoo
- experienced art in most of the likely suspects (Tate Modern, Courtauld Institute, the V&A), as well as smaller gallery spaces, on the street, and in the subway
