An Update and Words of Caution

Partial victory: reading notes and spotted are back up with all previous posts and comments. Archives seem to be working correctly, only browsing by category doesn’t show all titles at once right now.

A word of caution: upgrade WordPress then switch to a new host — don’t try to do both at once. Unless you actually know what you are doing (instead of just thinking you know what you are doing) you’ll wind up feeling exactly like this.

I’ll hammer my head against this wall again tomorrow, after jury duty and the day job responsibilities. Victory will be mine.

Update, Part 2: Yet Another Update on the State of the Empire

Posts, comments, and categories are now back, woo hoo!

Still a bit of tweaking to do, particularly with archive post browsing and display, but this will be (I certainly hope) the last post on the state of the previously broken and now miraculously functional blog. I am looking forward not crossing my fingers over INSERT TO statements ever again.
