Art and Toy

We spent the day in Salem today, went specifically to see the “Cooled and Collected” encaustic painting show at Boon Gallery.

There was a wide range of styles on display, and the paintings by Heather Hutchison were my favorite. They had a mesmerizing, peaceful quality to them, and picked up the light in unusual ways — they were done on plexiglass panels attached to wood frames.

I also picked up a new weird toy, Mr Momo. He had been calling to me for months from the Pickle Pot, and I decided today was the day to free him.
