I’ll admit my first reaction was “God no, this is just like another Freddy movie.”

There have been six Nightmare on Elm Street movies. Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare was the last one.

I have come to think of Internet Explorer 6 as the final nightmare of web browsers. It has become the Netscape 4.x that will not die, because so many misguided people are still using it.

But now the web must endure a Freddy vs Jason-type situation because Micro$oft has announced there will be an Internet Explorer 7.

So much gore, so unnecessary.

I guess the mass of people switching to Firefox is getting on Bill’s nerves. The whole losing five percent of market share in six months thing has got to hurt when alternative-crushing world dominance is your goal.
